Katja Gaudard is an actress, dancer, radio play narrator and creates interdisciplinary projects. After training as a dancer at the Centre de Danse Rosella Hightower in Cannes and further training in London and Paris, she worked as a freelance dancer and actress in the following years, both as a freelancer and as a permanent cast member. She has been a member of the Schauspiel Hannover ensemble since 2011. 2019- 2021 she is part of the ensemble of the Volksbühne Berlin. She has worked repeatedly with the directors Claudia Bauer, Lucia Bihler, Mina Salehpour, Lars Ole Wahlburg, Martin Laberenz, Tom Kühnel, Thorleifur Örn Arnasson, Thomas Krupa and Lukasz Twarkowsky. For the role of Rebekka in Noah Haidle’s “Homemaker”, directed by Anna Bergmann, she was nominated as Actress of the Year in the 2015 Theater heute critics’ poll.
Freelance since 2021, she has worked at Theater Basel with Sahar Rahmini and at Staatsschauspiel Dresden, currently in “Maria” by Simon Stephens in the production by Adrian Figueroa and at Schauspiel Leipzig in Richard 3, directed by Enrico Lübbe, nominated for the nachtkritik- Theatertreffen 2025.
Recently, she contributed to Frauen der Revolutionsstraße by Ayat Najafi and Alpha (Official Selection Cannes 2025) by Julia Ducournau.
In 2017 she formed a collective with the artist Lyhre realising multimedia projects premiered and shown at Staatstheater Oldenburg, Volksbühne Berlin, re:bublica 2022 amog others.
Lyhre is a Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer and singer-songwriter debuted in Netflix’s Élite. Her work got Cannes recognition. She opens for Isabel LaRosa and gets praised by critics for her live performance and musical direction. Classically educated, her multidisciplinary work spans multimedia, theater, and research, composing at Deutsches Theater Berlin, Volksbühne Berlin, re:publica among others. From posthuman feminism to hard-hitting, genre-bending dark pop: Lyhre melds her husky voice, while pounding the keys of the piano, with alternative, electronic, and classical influences—lauded by Earmilk as “pushing boundaries and evolving into a new era” for all so-constructed misfits. 2025 Lyhre joins officially ÄTNAs Lucky Dancer Tour as support act.
